Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.

버드나무 정원을 지나

버드나무 정원을 지나 내 사랑과 나는 만났어요
그녀는 눈처럼 흰 작은 발로 버드나무 동산을 건넜지요
그녀는 나뭇잎 나무에서 자라듯 사랑을 느긋하게 하라 했지만
난 그때 젊고 어리석어 그녀의 말 믿으려 하지 않았지요

시냇가 어느 들녘에 내 사랑과 나는 서 있었어요
그녀는 눈처럼 흰 손을 내 기울인 어깨에 얹었지요
그녀는 풀들이 둔덕에서 자라듯 인생을 느긋하게 살라 했지만
